Our Indiana Trip -- August 2013

Our first stop on our first day of driving ended up in the middle of no where in Wyoming (which isn't hard to do since there isn't much there :)  Clark enjoyed running around stretching his legs.

It was a 23 hour drive starting in Utah and ending in Idaho... of course we had a lot of fun along the way.  The kids honestly did way better than I expected. We brought a lot of things to do in the car.  We brought cookie sheets and the kids each got a new playdough toy.  Grandma Tonks and Uncle Joe rode with us and were a huge help.  Grandma read lots of books and we did some old McDonold songs with some fun animals... I think there were more than farm ones in there if I remember correctly. ;)

Uncle Joe had Kaylee duty in the very back.  I would pump milk and send it back so he could feed her.  We ended up with a pretty good system for all of us in the end for potty breaks and gassing up.

All the hotels we stayed in along the way and in Indiana had pools (exceptfofr Nauvoo) so the kids and Tyler got lots of swim time in.  We met up with Paul's family in Lincoln, Nebraska on the way out.  Nate's family and Grandpa joined us in Indiana a day after we got there.

Here they are swimming with cousins in Lincoln after our first day of travel.

Waiting for pizza...

Hotel in Warsaw, Indiana.  Grandma always spoils us when we visit.  We had a nice suite with a king bed for Tyler and I and a pull out couch bed for Addison and Clark.

The best reason for our trip!  Grandma Mary!!!  Here she is holding Kaylee.  We love Grandma so much.  It was so fun to catch up with her and play skip-bo.  We enjoyed visiting and just spending time with her.

Clark absolutely loved Grandma's tinker toys!  I think he will be getting some for Christmas...

My mom, grandma, being buried by stuffed animals.

We had a birthday bash for my Grandma Mary who will turn 85 on October 22, 2013. It was fun to see and catch up with aunts, uncles and cousins I haven't seen for a long time!

All of Kaylee's cousins had to hold her multiple times!  It was so cute to see how much they adored their baby cousin.  We loved being with all of them and miss them so much.  I hope we can all get together again soon.  Kind of crazy to think there are 18 now with just the immediate family on my side.  We have grown so much.  It was fun to visit and get to know so of my nieces and nephews that I don't see often and even the ones i do see it was fun to watch them all play.  I enjoyed visiting with my sister-in-laws  and brothers too!

Uncle Joe was so sweet to give dolphin rides to Addison and Clark.

We also went on a paddle boat ride on North Webster Lake.   It was a beautiful evening to go.  In fact the weather was much cooler than normal which was wonderful.  Usually it's way too hot and humid for me, but this year wasn't bad.

I love the pictures of everyone taking pictures... We have a lot of those. :)  Here is Mom taking pictures and Nate and Emily on the bench in front of us.

Addison got cold so Grandpa snuggled her.

Clark loved the big paddle and they even got to see the engine room and pick out a treat with money grandpa and grandma gave them.

enjoying the ride... The boat's name is Dixie...

It's such a blessing to have the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ on the Earth.  I am so grateful for my testimony and the knowlegde that I have of plan of salvation.  I am grateful for Joseph Smith's life and the legacy that the early Saints left for me to follow.  What a wonderful thing to know that I will be with all my loved ones even after we depart from this Earth.

I love my sweet husband.  He is so good with our kids and so good to me.  He did most of the driving and hauled our luggage into and out of the hotels since I wasn't suppose to yet.
